The owners of the “Tacky Lights” home in Henrico County are facing the prospect of losing their house. The house is famous in the county and has even been featured on TV shows.

Phifer does the decorations outside his home, and his mother’s home next door. He says that his wife recently lost her job, and he has seen his overtime hours cut. Now, the family is facing home foreclosure. And that’s not all.

“On Friday I took my dog to the vet and they said he has cancer,” Phifer said. “Also my daughter’s braces are falling off her teeth. I’m not going to ask what’s going to happen next..because it probably will.”

Bobby says that reality set in just two nights ago, when he was taking his daughter to McDonald’s after they finished setting up this year’s light display.

“She said, ‘Dad, I’ll pay you back for the food because I know we are trying to save the house.’ It makes you feel about this small as a father,” Phifer said.

In Colorado, more than 50 cats and kittens were rescued from a foreclosed home. The cats were in various states of health and living in terrible conditions.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Animal control officers found more than 50 abandoned cats and kittens in a foreclosed Fort Collins home over the past week.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office called the Larimer Humane Society to a home at 312 East Swallow Road to assist in what appeared to be a few cats left behind following the home foreclosure.

Upon further investigation, animal control officers found dozens of cats and kittens living in what officers called “deplorable living conditions” in the home.

The animals were found in varying states of health.

The front yard of the home was littered with furniture and debris from the home, apparently put there during the foreclosure process.
